Welcome

Introduction

Welcome to my first photo website. After many years of being asked "Do you have a website that I can see your pictures on?", I have finally decided to say yes. This is my first effort at website creation, so if you encounter any problems, mistakes, spelling/grammar errors or anything that just seems wrong, feel free to Send Mail to Paul

Before I travel to take photographs, I typically research online the best shooting locations and time of day. To help others, I geotagged the majority of the pictures included here. I also included the shooting meta data for each photograph. I hope you find this extra information useful.

Copyright

All of the photographs on this website are copyrighted and all rights are reserved. Please respect that copyright. That said, if you have a need for a particular image (or images), just reach out to me (via email). I'm pretty sure that we will be able to work something out.

Photoshop

I shoot my photographs in raw mode. They all go through Photoshop's raw processing. I often adjust clarity, vibrance, highlights, shadows, etc. In addition, I shoot at a lot of popular National Parks with other visitors. I do occasionally remove visual distractions with the cloning and healing tools.

Colors

Getting consistent reproduction across the various devices that I use is hard. It is harder still to get consistent color reproduction across the web on devices that I don't even know about. The industry has worked to resolve this issue through the use of color management. The best way to view the photos on this website is to have a complete color managed system. I know most viewers will not have that. If the colors in these photographs look ok to you then I would not worry about it. If they look odd (most likely over saturated) you should consider checking if your browser has been configured properly. For Firefox, I recommend following the steps shown below.

 1 Type about:config in Firefox's address bar
2 Use the filter field to search for gfx
3 Find gfx.color_management.mode and ensure it is set to 1

In addition, modern monitors can emulate a variety of color profiles. In the picture below, the monitor setup allows you to select its operating mode. Select sRGB for this website.

Site Creation

I used the wonderful jAlbum photo website creation software for most of this sites creation. It utilizes "Skins" which allow you to customize the look and feel of the web site. I used the "Turtle" skin. If you are interested in these tools, visit the following sites:
